The Thonet S 35 armchair consists of a curved tubular steel frame in chrome and seat and back surfaces made of a wide variety of materials, such as leather and fabric in many colours. The armrests are made of stained beech or oiled walnut. The armrests, which are sprung independently of the seat and balance the swinging of the seat and back frame projecting backwards, creates a double cantilever effect.
