The pendant Johnny B. Butterfly by Ingo Maurer captivates in its unusualness among other things with the particularly detailed insects, which were created by the American craftsman Graham Owens: Butterflies and dragonflies dance around an oversized light bulb wrapped in a special telephone strip to create a special lighting effect. Graham Owen’s works bring Ingo’s creative vision for these designs to life. They offer a wonderful shadow play for the hanging light bulbs, reminiscent of the “moth-to-flame” passion of insects for light sources. And then there are the humorous references of the food chain….
