Designers Charles and Ray Eames collected unique objects on their journeys. On one of these journeys, they also purchased a black painted bird figure from the mountainous region of the Appalachians. This bird has often been seen on interior pictures since then and has become fame with time. It made Vitra decide to reproduce this nice bird figure in its original dimensions.

FAQ
How do I maintain wood furniture to keep it beautiful for years?
Wood is a living material that responds to humidity and temperature changes. Dust regularly with a soft cloth following the grain, and wipe spills immediately. Maintain the wood every few months with quality wax or oil to restore natural oils. Keep humidity levels between 40–55% and avoid direct sunlight, which can cause fading and drying.
Why is sustainable furniture important?
Sustainable furniture is designed and manufactured with minimal environmental impact — using responsibly sourced or recycled materials. Longer lifespan results in fewer replacements and long-term cost savings. Quality pieces from genuine materials last longer and need fewer replacements — that's the truest form of sustainability.
Which designer furniture retains its value?
Furniture from renowned designers in quality materials holds value long-term. Classic designs from Eames, Jacobsen, or Wegner are timeless and easy to resell. A well-maintained vintage piece or designer classic can appreciate over years, especially with authentication and documentation.
