St. Mauli in Berlin

Written by Anne-Marie den Hertog in

This small but elegant bar in Berlin-Friedrichshain offers a very special dish: Maultaschen. These Swabian delicacies, a type of ravioli, come with a variety of different fillings, with even a vegan version appearing on the menu. All Maultaschen are handmade and are free from additives. They are crafted from fresh ingredients that have been sourced from local suppliers.

It is not only here that St. Mauli has shown its commitment to sustainability: the design of the bar also reflects this philosophy. Berlin based bullahuth Fotografie und Gestaltung has done a great job here. The elegant interior combines vintage wooden furniture and metal work, set off by a beautiful stucco ceiling. A particularly eye-catching feature is the industrial-themed elongated shelf, its design reminiscent of water pipes.

And should you fancy new home accessories or inspiration then check out Victoria met Albert. The small shop is located directly around the corner.
