Panama Restaurant with exotic comfort in Berlin

Panama Restaurant Bar in Berlin

Tucked away in an idyllic courtyard of Potsdamer Strasse in one of Berlin’s most diverse neighbourhoods lies the Panama Restaurant & Bar. The eatery instantly impresses with its exotic colour influences and comfortable furnishings. The interior has been designed by Nora Witzigmann and Karoline Butzert in collaboration with owner Ludwig Cramer-Klett.

The two-storey building welcomes diners and drinkers in with its enticing brickwork façade, while the interior is an eye-catching combination of various fabrics, fixtures and exotic plants. The high ceilings of the building remain in place, accentuated by colourful displays and columns, while majestic lighting pieces illuminate every square inch of the interior, ensuring no one corner is left in the dark. Clashes of colour and materials are also used to give the place a real sense of personality, with classic timber Thonet chairs serving as a great contrast to the more sumptuous soft seating that lines the perimeters of the dining area. Even the contemporary artwork mounted on the walls has been painstakingly considered, with a large-scale nature photography by Julius von Bismarck, next to the bone-shaped neon from Kerim Seiler.
