Branddeli in Amsterdam by DZAP

It’s no surprise an old warehouse makes a great work space with plenty of square footage and character-rich surroundings. However there’s one problem architects often face: how to bring intimacy and personality to huge spaces?

Design studio DZAP didn’t have any trouble with this challenge turning this old warehouse into an office space for Branddeli. Rough edges of the industrial space have been softened for a comfortable and livable finish, and bringing light to a largely windowless building.

As you see the result is stunning. Wooden surfaces bring a more traditional finish and homely feeling. Some of the original character has been maintained, with the exposed brickwork providing a raw connection to the industrial heritage, coordinating beautifully with vintage inspired carpets, furnishings and upholstery. With the kitchen, an extra long wooden bar blends seamlessly into the rest of the space, with a fireplace and library bringing more wood accents and authentic stamps of character. Utilizing interior lighting and existing window space, an open view of the Amsterdam harbour beats any piece of artwork.
